Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual campaign to raise awareness about the impact of breast cancer.
Breast cancer is a disease in which malignant (cancer) cells form in the tissues of the breast. Breast cancer is the second most common type of cancer in American women. Most breast cancers are found in women who are 50 years old or older, but breast cancer also affects younger women. Men also get cancer but it is not very common.
Mammograms are the best way to find breast cancer early, when it is easier to treat and before it is big enough to feel or cause symptoms.
Let’s raise awareness about the risk of getting breast cancer including having an early detection plan! Let’s celebrate survivorship, and honor and remember loved ones!
