During the month of March, Putnam Ridge recognizes and celebrates National Social Worker month and the important role Social Services play with residents and families.
Putnam Ridge’s team confronts some of the most challenging issues facing individuals and their families during a difficult time in their lives. Social workers help to improve resident’s lives by finding solutions that will help them reach their fullest potential in a skilled nursing setting. They meet with residents and family members to arrange for things like care planning, discharge planning, stress management, assist with advanced directive documents, and counseling and advocacy to help support and ensure social and emotional needs of each resident is met. Jennifer Hovnanian, LMSW, the Director of Social Services, and her team continually keep up with the latest trends in the field and then adapts strategies and techniques for the individuals and families they work with. Thank you to our Social Services team for their dedication and commitment to our many residents!
